the mustard Moss

I forgot that in the mentalness (totes a word) of pre-Christmas I didn't share on here my latest grainline Moss mini. I bought this mustard denim from The Village Haberdashery in the autumn (the blue corduroy is still waiting to become a skirt!) with a #TVHHaul* voucher I had won for making my last Moss mini. Lucky me, eh?

I had an immediate vision for it to be worn with grey wooly tights and a jumper. Almost exactly how this looks! Apologies for the badly lit photo - it has not stopped raining here since October. We have officially had the wettest Scottish December ever. And it's usually pretty bloody wet anyway! And ignore purple hoover in background - this was snatched mid Big Christmas Clean!

I did more visible top stitching on this one and I think it looks pretty good. There's a bit of a wobble at the bottom of the fly (curves are hard!) but it's pretty no bad, I think.

The top stitching is Gutterman Sulky that I've had for years. The perfect warm grey shade for me.

So that's another skirt for my wardrobe. I have 6 now and a seventh (the blue cord) in the pipeline. This year's dressmaking goal? Knits! I have some Heather Ross strawberries for a go at a tee maybe. That's a whole different ballgame from woven fabrics........yikes.......

*the Village Habdash have an online prize draw every month for people who have purchased from them or made things with their products. I was lucky enough to win 3 last year - there's a reason they are one of my favourite shops. *g*

  5. Love this! I tentatively said last year 2016 would be the year I got to grips with some dress making. But right now I'd consider it a bonus if I got anything sewn!

Hi! I'll try really hard to reply to comments by email (unless you're a no-reply Blogger in which case I can't!) because I love getting your messages but I'm a working mum and don't always manage - I read and appreciate every single one!
