It actually felt like I'd made more than this last month! But that Moss mini and the uke case were surprisingly involved, I guess. And I was on holiday for a week, too.
I got this chap finished too and didn't properly share here. This is my second Arielle skirt made with space invaders chambray from the Village Haberdashery.
And proof of wearability last month in Picadilly Circus.
I don't like it as much as my first one but I think it's to do with the different lining I used. It's much more slippery and the skirt rides up more while wearing it which is annoying. But it's all a learning curve, right? I can replace it if I really need to. And it's a finish on my finish-along quarter 3 proposal so yay! We've had a busy few days here (some good stuff, some not-so) but I'll pop back in soon with the tales of woe and some pretty stuff. Have a good Monday!
A very productive month!!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Sometimes some velvet ribbon (or similar) sewn along the inside edge of a hem can stop a skirt riding up as it increases the friction between you and the lining but be warned that it can exacerbate matters rather than help, depending on what's causing the riding up! Or you can tack the lining to the skirt where the hem meets the side seams (if it has any!) - I think they're called swing/French tacks? Or wear a petticoat...
P.P.S. Have you tried using a bit more fabric softener when you wash it? Or rubbing the lining with one of those 'anti static' tumble dryer sheets...
Love the uke case......I can think of a couple of wee girls who would love it over here! Juliex
