the secret Chrimbo makes

I was going to say that I didn't make much in the run up to Christmas but that is obviously a big, fat lie. What I mean is I didn't make much that I couldn't show you. But now I can!

My mum asked for a large toiletry bag since all the ones in the shops are too ridiculously small to be any use to her.  I made a make-up bag to match, too, from the beautiful Anna Maria Horner's Sketchbook.

It is lined with pvc cotton from Terry's Fabrics for wipeability and filled with Soap & Glory goodies coz they are the schizzle. The pattern is Noodlehead's Open Wide Pouch which is always a lovely make.

My dad always uses mum's mugrugs so his own one was very much called for. He owns a little "proper" red Mini like Spouse has so after buying Mini fabric for the Ginorma-mini quilt it was a no-brainer!

And 2 paper-pieced cushions for my 2 friends. I bought the patterns on Etsy, I do love all the woodland things out just now.

I was hoping to do lots of sewing the last few days and cut a new quilt out on Friday night. But I've been laid up with this yukky chesty cough virus and have had a fairly miserable 48 hours so I'm hoping it starts to wane soon!

  1. I love the presents, they are each lovely. I hope your cold/virus is gone soon, I have the same thing and it has already overstayed its welcome.

  3. Didn't you know, they're not toiletry bags any more, they're beauty bags... So the woman in Boots sternly informed my mum when she was looking a couple of months ago anyway!

Great job on the pouches and love the mug rug and cushions!

    Feel better soon!

Hi! I'll try really hard to reply to comments by email (unless you're a no-reply Blogger in which case I can't!) because I love getting your messages but I'm a working mum and don't always manage - I read and appreciate every single one!
