I've taken a few photos I wouldn't otherwise have snapped lately. Blame Instagram. But since this here blog is my main record of life I'm adding them here, too. Sorry Instagram folk, it's about to get a whole lot of dejavu-y in here.
Chookie and Dennis (yes, the Menace!) a fortnight ago. On one of those lovely warm days we had. And, in fact, are still having. School hols start next Friday, though, so expect that to change!
Dead cats. The same day as above. Okay, so not dead dead. But in-the-garden-all-day-I-cannot-move asleep.
.
Cubism by Chookie. And, yes, this is "Uncle Camilla." She does like her wee jokes.
My Hipbees blocks so far. Aren't they totes amazeballs? *gags* Sorry. Don't know where that particular phrase came from.
My triple zippy pouch! Finally! I swapped the main fabric with the wee dude up north last summer and always had this earmarked for a pouch. My current handbag is massive and stuff just rolls about the bottom getting lost. So this is an inch wider and longer than the pattern and I boxed the bottom - it holds a TON of stuff while still being neat in size. Result!!
And tonight's finish? My marcella medallion top!! I love it so much, it is totally the beach colours that I thought of when I saw the "Sunkissed" bundle in March. I have backing and binding all sorted, too! Just need for payday to roll round for batting. Trying a new one recommended by Jan since we both loath and detest Hobbes 80/20!
My beloved Spouse (yak) is in away on business this week. Listen to me, lah-de-dah - he's working in Stornoway til Friday so I've seen Eat, Pray, Love (which is shit) and Salmon Fishing in the Yemen (which was all kinds of awesome) already this week. I think something more usual is called for tonight. Hello, Thor!! I've got Discos and everything waiting. Yay!!
I agree with you on the movies...Ewan was fantastic!:) We saw Superman on Sunday...good but dark...too dark for Superman!
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt. You did a really, really great job putting the colors and patterns where they are...spot on kiddo!
Also....you should frame that top shot!
So love a pile of movies to watch, perfect chick flicks :)
ReplyDeleteLove the Marcelle Medallion- the colours are amazing! Enjoy your freedom!
ReplyDeleteI love Instagram too!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea about instagram, but sure my daughter will try to persuede to play at some time....more time wasting but fun I am sure. I haven't heard the word 'lah-de-dar' for ages, then last week someone said it and now you have used it...does that mean we are going back to 'old fashioned language'?? :)
ReplyDeletePretty quilt but prettier Chook and Dennis - agreeing it should get framed :)
ReplyDeletegreat photos and your medallion is totesawesome (c)
ReplyDeleteGood to see the pics I won't see on instagram due to not being on it! Loving that M-Medallion top - hope you like the wadding better. I read Salmon Fishing for the book group and then watched the film and preferred the film - not often that happens!
ReplyDeleteI love a good cheesy movie when my other half is away - Serendipity and Rock of Ages are always good for fun! Your Marcelle Medallion is amazing - look forward to seeing it quilted x
ReplyDeleteParticularly loving the M.M great work, and how the heck have i missed these on IG, i must keep more focused!
ReplyDeleteIsn't Salmon Fishing just the coolest film, we watched it last year and didn't expect much at all based on the title but I loved it!
ReplyDeleteMedallion quilt top is fab, nice colours - very chilled :)
I love your Bee blocks and your medallion quilt but I'm afraid Chookie's drawing has stolen the show!
ReplyDeleteNice pics, and your movie commentary cracked me up. I rarely like chick flicks and that one sounded like total crap even before I read the reviews.
ReplyDeleteI wonder though...are you one of those "Thor is so hot with his big muscles and long golden locks" or like one of those creepy chicks on Pinterest with their "I could totally save Loki from his destructive ways but not completely because all that diabolical angst is soooooo attractive"?? hahahaha.
Love your MM! Nosey question? How are you planning to quilt it? I am terrified of attempting on my domestic. May send it out to a long armer. Do you long arm?
ReplyDeleteSee these kinds of posts are handy for those of us wot have buggered off on holiday... Loving the man's new exotic work locations ;o)
