This was my first attempt at a circle of geese block. It's a table square to match my Mum's blind and took the best part of Sunday morning. And Saturday night. And I have 2 quarters in the bin because one was the wrong way round and one is the wrong size. Bloody printer! However I'm pleased with it and it looks good in Mum's kitchen. Not making a quilt of them any time soon, though!
This one is at least related to the bro's quilt! It's the ORB dresden round and this will eventually be a cushion to match the aforementioned quilt. My first proper dresden. Not making a quilt of these, either! *grins*
And I had the urge tonight to rattle up a manicure set like the one I made Mum for Mother's Day. This is for my sis-in-law's birthday in a few weeks (bro's wife!)
It matches the dumpling pouch I made waaay back for her. There's a pretty pink compact mirror and some pink lip balm in the bag. I'd quite like one of these sets myself!
I have done 2 of the 3 rows of hills on the pesky Christmas quilt and I 'm a lot easier about it now. It's going to look quite good, I think. I wasn't sure for a few days there!! The plan is to have a finished top by the weekend (or the end of the weekend) so we shall see! I work better to deadlines... ooh, that's a nice pattern...
Love what you have made - can't wait to see those rollin' hills in their full glory xxx
ReplyDeleteI love your circle of geese! Forget about the binned ones and enjoy your lovely one!
ReplyDeleteFabby makes! I was thinking just last night I work much better with deadlines too!
ReplyDeleteThe table centre turned out brill! Well done for persevering. Love that manicure pouch too! Any tutes available for it? Jxo
ReplyDeleteLove the flying geese - I'd like to have a go at this but so far not been so brave!
ReplyDeleteLovely makes :-) Deadlines are my Kryptonite... lol
ReplyDeleteWow! So many pretty things! I esp love the dresden. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny, I do that too - suddenly making a bunch of other things to avoid the one with the deadline, all destined to make the deadline harder to meet. The projects are all wonderful!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the table thingy. I'm in the middle of a flight of circling geese myself at the moment. So far so good, but only 1 block done lol
ReplyDeleteThe dresden and manicure kit/dumpling bag set are looking fab too
Oh those geese look fab and total compliment your mum's blind.
ReplyDeleteNow stop procrastinating and get on with the quilt!!!! :P
Lovely, lovely lovely! Love a good deadline, there are always lots more lovlies to do before you finally get to it! :) Ahh, but I do my best work on a last minute deadline!
ReplyDeletecircles of geese are ridiculously time consuming, aren't they? I could never make a full quilt of them either.
ReplyDeleteYour little manicure set is super cute, now I want to make one!
Love what you've made while you're not making your brother's quilt! I'm so late commenting that I expect you've got the last rows of hills done by now...yes?!!
