Spouse is at a concert tonight seeing Motorhead again (he really didn't want to go!) so Chookie and I went to the local bonfire and fireworks display ourselves. We're really lucky , it's about 100m from our house so we just walked round 10 minutes before and ooh-ed and aah-ed with everyone else. It was excellent - I think even better than last years. It's only the second year it's been put on by the local Round Table, before we had to travel to a nearby town to see one and because it's RT all the money raised goes to local charities, too. Everyone wins!
Sounds like you had a great night - hope you were both well wrapped up for the cold and had big mugs of chocolate with ALL the trimmings when you got home
ReplyDeleteOur local display (by the scouts) isin the next village, about 2 miles away. Husband and I took advantage this year of both daughters being travel independent and sat at home with a glass of wine and two nervous cats for the first time in 18 years! But Ethne's idea sound great too, LOL

ReplyDeleteSounds great! This year our local council didn't hold their usual display on the stray and didn't announce it until it was too late for anything else to be organised, grrrr...

ReplyDeleteWe were there too, wasn't the display fab. Speaking to Catriona yesterday and they were all there too. Turns out loads of people I know were there but I didn't see anyone on the night - typical!!
