Yo! Sushi

We're all off work/school today - yay!! So we had planned a day in Glasgow really to visit the Gallery of Modern Art on Queen St (often passed, never patronised!) and a trip to the People's Palace. Neither of which happened! We shopped. We did some shopping. We visited some shops. You get the picture? We had a ball and then we had some lunch. Now, I've had Yo! Sushi recommended to me by my mate Sue and since we passed the new one in Frasers in Buchanan St? Well, it would have been rude not to visit, wouldn't it?

The Chook is a major sushi fan. Major. So it was up on the stool, turning the nose up at the kids "cheaters" chopsticks and away we go!! She looks a bit put out in that photo - honest she's not, she's just stuffed an avocado maki in her gob! The novelty of the conveyor belt plates was pretty huge.

I love how my photo makes them look like they really whizz past - that would be fun catching them at that speed, no? Dinner AND a show! (apologies for the shoddy photies, taken on my phone they were!). But holy moley, it was expensive for the three of us. We did stuff ourselves to bursting point (and the Spouse has expensive tastes!!) and being used to the Ichiban noodle bar prices didn't help, I suppose. But we will definitely be back just coz it's fun.
We came home late afternoon absolutely knackered (and a lot less well off!) and I hoped to finish quilting the Jamie-Lee top. I have run out of thread about a metre from the finish. PANTS!!! But on the upside, it did help me discover my one huge pucker in my last row of stitching. So some reverse quilting with my old friend Mr. Seam-ripper shall ensue this evening and tomorrow new thread shall be bought, binding made and maybe even partly sewn on. And a trip to the cinema and lunch out. Busy busy!!

  1. Rosy likes SOME sushi I was informed today but whilst eating dinner in Chinatown she stuck to other more familiar stuff :) 80 quid for seven people to eat including drinks wasn't too bad we decided....

Hi! I'll try really hard to reply to comments by email (unless you're a no-reply Blogger in which case I can't!) because I love getting your messages but I'm a working mum and don't always manage - I read and appreciate every single one!
