we all want some Figgy Pudding.

Time is flying at the mo! So the poor blog gets a bit neglected and, to be honest, the lack of light at this time of year really doesn't help with the photo taking. So, this is Mam's Christmas quilt top - BasicGrey's Figgy Pudding (for Moda). It's weird using fabric from a line that I've used scrapbook papers from!

I have to take pics in the Chook's room at this time if year, hence the toys creeping in at the sides! It's my first try at applique - not bad, I reckon. Not perfect but good enough for me.

Bought red thread today so perhaps basting and a start on it tonight. Maybe. News on Chook achievements tomorrow - she's been a busy girl!!

  1. Ohh....I like it. The trees look great. Does your Mam not read your blog? I have all sorts of things I'd like to post on my blog but my mom and sister and daughter read it so that would spoil their xmas surprise!:)

I really love the colors of that top....I'm really into grey. It looks like a window!:)

  3. Thank you, both!

Dee, not only is me Mam *totally* pc un-savvy, she's seen the top already. It's not a gift, it's just something pretty for her to have (she chose the fabric!)

  4. Mum picked wisely, in both fabric and quilter/piecer/appliquer! It's a beauty, Lynz and I love the solid sashing color, too.

Your trees are inspired! I love how they add so much to the quilt.

Hi! I'll try really hard to reply to comments by email (unless you're a no-reply Blogger in which case I can't!) because I love getting your messages but I'm a working mum and don't always manage - I read and appreciate every single one!
