I thought it was really cute (so did she) and then I had the brainwave to make another set for her friend's birthday gift. So I got back to the sewing machine (I knew those unused strips of "Just Dreamy" would come in handy! )

Yoo-hoo beds.
Yoo-hoos - for the uninitiated - are the latest cuddly toy craze round our way. Chookie has several and I had noticed the last few nights that she had made little makeshift beds for her favourite out of another toy's wee blanket. I offered to make her a proper wee den for it, I love little projects!

*%£"!$^**^%%$"!!!

I was hoping to get the cherries quilt completely quilted tonight but a half hour in my left index finger and the bit the needle goes into (technical!) had a disagreement. I couldn't feel my whole finger for about an hour. Now it just really REALLY hurts. I'm getting an interesting bruise on my nail. Hmph. It's looking cute, though. The quilt - not my poor Peter Pointer! My Mum said the top looked like a kids quilt so I've plumped for scribble quilting. Meaning I'm just looping about like mad and making a mess. I think it works really nicely. Maybe if my finger's okay tomorrow I'll get it finished. Maybe.
P.S. He bought me the boots!!! The power of Blogger!!

Dear Spouse...
...I know you were a total sweetheart today surprising me with new iPod ear buds. But I really want these for Christmas. (Except not patent and without the cheating zips!!)

yah-boo-sucks.
So I got my wonky cherries quilt basted today, eventually!! My top had turned out wider than I thought, my backing wasn't wide enough. The pieced strip I made out of my very few scraps to make the backing wide enough was too short (I really must learn to measure) and then I hadn't enough batting. I pieced it and it all gathered up at one end. And when I finally got basted and round to quilting? I broke the thread and then my last machine needle. Hmph.
I do like how it's all turned out, though. Some scribbly loopy free motion quilting and a green daisy binding and we're done.

I love it when a plan comes together - part 2!!
Okay, so there is a post here about one of my 2 first quilts fulfilling its destiny. *grins* I got another one on Thursday from my friend Biff. Cute, eh? The quilt's not bad, either.
I made that. There's a post with the 2 finished articles (and a lovely thank you from Biff) here. I do love making stuff.

paying it forward (and feeling brave!!)
** all full up now!!**
So I stumbled across this today at Rafael's Mum's blog and it sounds like a bit of fun. I had such a good time with the Holiday blocks swap (and I'm involved with a much smaller one on FlickR) that I'm feeling brave.

1. I will make a little something for the first three people who comment on this post. It will be a surprise and it will arrive on your doorstep when you least expect it!
2. I will have 365 days to do it in. What's the catch? To get a handmade prezzie from me, you have to play too. This means YOU pledge to send a little handmade something to three readers of your blog. It doesn't have to be quilty - just handmade.
3. You must have a blog. (obviously!)
4. BEFORE you comment here, you must post about your Pay It Forward on your blog to keep the fun going, and display the Pay It Forward button.
If no one plays here I shall cry. You don't want that, do ya? (and this PIF includes all my Stateside girls - distance is no object!!) And anyways, if no one comments? I've already got 3 friends picked out for random giftage. AND I have their addresses already. Ha!
